Ready for the Spotlight
Snug Harbor development set for grand opening, summer concert series

Editor’s Note: This is part of a series of articles about the Snug Harbor development at Buckeye Lake.

Snug Harbor, Buckeye Lake’s new waterfront community, is ready for its place in the spotlight. A grand opening celebration will be held June 13, featuring fireworks, tours and live jazz music presented by Smooth Jazz 103.5 WJZA.

Headlining the event is saxophonist Paul Taylor, whose smooth, romantic vibe has made him one of the genre’s most dynamic performers. He has numerous tracks that have landed on Billboard’s Top 10 Contemporary Jazz recordings list.

The grand opening event will also showcase everything Snug Harbor has to offer. The development will present a diverse collection of homes amidst a luxurious harbor village backdrop, complete with a boardwalk strewn with nostalgic shops and quaint eateries. It offers resort-style living for Central Ohioans in a convenient location just 35 minutes from downtown Columbus.

Join the Snug Harbor development team as it unveils a unique setting soon to be filled with charming island cottages, lakeside homes, condos and boathouses, encompassing coastal styles from around the globe – from French chateaus to Italian villas.

The grand opening event kicks off a summer full of relaxation and fun at Snug Harbor, including more concerts presented by Smooth Jazz 103.5 WJZA. Throw a blanket and a picnic basket in the trunk and cruise over to Snug Harbor. You’re sure to see more than you expected, and to come back for even more.

A Sensible Partnership
Real Living HER has the exclusive master marketing sales agreement for all real estate properties at Snug Harbor Village and will have a satellite office in the village. Real Living HER agent Jenny Schneider will be showcasing properties in the new, unique luxury community, but adds home seekers are not obligated to conduct their search through Real Living HER, and can work with another company or agent of their choice.

“We welcome other real estate companies to bring in buyers from everywhere, and to come out and be a part of Snug Harbor,” Schneider says. “There are so many benefits to Snug Harbor. We just want everyone to realize how wonderful it is.”

Real Living HER will host events for other agents to peruse the properties, which range from cottages to boathouses and wharf condominiums to luxury homes.

“What makes Snug Harbor so exciting is the architecture – it is international and diverse,” Scheider says. “Whether you choose to live in an apartment-style condo at $150,000 or a luxury chateau for $2 million, every single property is on the water, with boat access to the water.”

Not only was the water a major selling point for Real Living HER, but so was the quality of the development.

“For us to have this opportunity to partner with Snug Harbor just made sense – with its quality of homes, the commitment to doing it right, the boardwalk and the feeling of community,” says Harley Rouda, Jr., CEO of Real Living HER. “When you see a sunset at Buckeye Lake you’ll understand why you’ll want to have a home there.”

Home Away From Home
Ron Guzzo, of Ron Guzzo Custom Homes, has already purchased two home sites at Snug Harbor and is hoping to acquire more in the near future. Like Snug Harbor’s developer Marty Finta, Guzzo spent many summers as a kid traveling to Buckeye Lake, and appreciates the nostalgic vision surrounding the community’s conception.

“I’ve never seen a person with the foresight that Marty has had with this. All over you see little projects with two or three houses here or there, but he’s taken Snug Harbor much further. It’s a final destination – not only a place to live, but a lifestyle,” Guzzo says.

The planned community of Snug Harbor – with its boardwalk, clubhouse, pizza parlor, ice cream shop and so much more – is familiar to Guzzo, who was one of the first builders in the planned community of New Albany.

“We’ve had phenomenal success in New Albany because of the way it was planned, and I see this as having the same success,” Guzzo says. “There is nothing else like it around.”

Setting Sail at Snug Harbor
Another Central Ohio custom homebuilder, Kevin Knight, of Kevin Knight and Company, has his sights set on Snug Harbor as well. A self-described “water person,” Knight spends a lot of time on Lake Erie, but appreciates the idea of having something similar much closer to home.

“I love water, I love boats, I love the setting of water, and anything in Central Ohio that has anything to do with water is going to be exciting. I really think Snug Harbor is the future,” Knight says. “People are looking for smaller, smarter places to live and here you’ll be able to enjoy life and have amenities – like water – not often found in this area. People are looking for something more than just a nice home; they’re looking for something fun and exciting and they’ll be excited about this.”
