Studios on High Gallery, 686 N. High Street, will host oil painter Marcia Snedecor and ceramic artist Denise Romecki from Oct. 1-31.
Snedecor will show new paintings inspired by nature, mythology and archetypal imagery executed in her ethereal style. Romecki will present her nature inspired ceramic sculptures of earth, water and wildlife with a mythical twist.

The OSU Urban Arts Space in the historic Lazarus building in downtown Columbus presents Sid Chafetz: Engaging the World through Saturday, Oct 25.
Sid Chafetz, professor emeritus, has commented on his world —from local and national political issues to timeless aspects of the human condition — throughout his artistic career. A survivor of the Battle of the Bulge in World War II, a two-time Fulbright Scholar, world traveler and internationally exhibited artist, Chafetz is one of the living treasures of Columbus. The exhibition is co-curated by Ann Bremner and Prudence Gill. An opening reception is scheduled at the OSU Urban Arts Space on Friday, Sept. 26, 5-7 p.m.
The Sid Chafetz exhibition is presented in tandem with two other exhibitions this fall at the OSU Urban Arts Space - the 2008 Department of Art Faculty Exhibition, Oct. 21- Jan. 10, and Alan Crockett: Mark Making, Nov. 7-Jan. 24.
All three exhibitions are in collaboration with Objects of Wonder from the Ohio State University, on view at the Columbus Museum of Art Sept. 26 – Jan. 11. This exhibition features items and artifacts from the artistic to the scientific, culled from the archives and collections housed at the university. For more than 10 years, Accessible Expressions Ohio has been the only known statewide, adjudicated art exhibition and tour for persons with disabilities, featuring stops in Columbus, Dayton, Sandusky, Xenia and more. The work of over 80 Ohio artists with disabilities was on display at the opening ceremony March 8, hosted by the Toledo Botanical Garden. Currently, smaller portions of the exhibition are touring the state.

The Fresh A.I.R. Gallery will present Winds of Change, paintings by Steven Riggs, from July 30 through Aug. 29.
Riggs is a professional artist who uses old world techniques to create works of beauty, mystery and spiritual significance in Oil, Graphite and Mixed Media. He was born in Detroit, Mich. in 1962.
He studied the art of the Renaissance Masters throughout his youth and began painting at an early age. Riggs is known for his portrait work which captures the personality and essence of the subject.
Riggs' work is a part of many private and corporate collections throughout the United States, Canada, Spain, the UK and China. He has taught art and design at The Decorative Arts Center of Ohio, the Groveport Cultural Arts Center and at the Civilizations Gallery in Columbus.
