Pizza Franchise Spreads to Hilliard
Wally's Pizza & Subs is based in Southeastern Ohio

You can grab a pizza anywhere, but how often will it boast a homemade dough that stands out from the cookie-cutter chain pies?

After all, the dough is the base. The foundation. The rock that holds the rest of the pizza together. And it's the dough that makes the pizza at Wally's Pizza & Subs special.

"Our pizza is truly unique and made with homemade dough and can't be compared to any other pizza in the Columbus area. People are saying we are the best kept secret," says Shawn Morland, who owns and operates the newest version of Wally's with his brother Bryan and Marla Knisley.

Wally's Pizza & Subs just opened up at 4333 Cosgray Road in Hiliard and is the first of four to enter a major market. It brings a large following from its base out of Southeastern Ohio.

Tom and Luella Hanes established Wally's Old Fashioned Pizza in 1978 in Cambridge. There are also Wally's located in Marietta and Caldwell, and another is planned for Zanesville.

Wally's offers pizzas by the slice, but is known mostly for its 16-inch square pan pizza. It also features 12 sub sandwiches, salads and cheesy bread.

The Hilliard branch is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday; and from 3-9 p.m. on Sunday.
