The Otterbein College Theatre recently announced its show schedule for its 2009/2010 season. The shows and their dates are as follows:

Oct. 15-18, 22-24
Babes in Arms
Fritsche Theatre at Cowan Hall, 30 S. Grove St.
This musical boasts one of the greatest scores ever written. Set at a summer stock theatre, the plot concerns a group of young apprentices and their conviction to mount the original revue they’ve created while dodging the underhanded attempts of asurly theatre owner. This version is the 1959 adaptation by George Oppenheimer.

Oct. 29-31, Nov. 6 and 7
A Delicate Balance

Campus Center Theatre, 100 W. Home St.
This Pulitzer Prize winning play by Edward Albee enjoyed a stunning Broadway revival in 1996 with George Gizzard, Rosemary Harris and Eliane Stritch. Wealthy middle-aged couple, Agnes and Tobias have their complacency shattered when Harry and Edna, longtime friends appear at their doorstep.

You Can't Take It With You

At first the Sycamore family seems mad, but it is not long before we realize that if they are mad, the rest of the world is madder.

Dead Man's Cell Phone

An incessantly ringing cell phone in a quiet café, a stranger at the next table who has had enough and a dead man with a lot of loose ends. So begins this wildly imaginative comedy by Pulitzer Prize finalist Sarah Ruhl.

Pippin
Fritsche Theatre at Cowan Hall, 30 S. Grove St.
This hip, tongue-in-cheek, anachronistic fairy tale captivated Broadway audiences and continues to appeal to the young at heart everywhere. The energetic pop-influenced score by three-time Academy Award-winning composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz bursts with one showstopping number after another.


Subscriptions for the 2009-2010 season are now available. Individual tickets, which will go on sale on Sept. 21, are $15 for A Delicate Balance, You Can’t Take It With You, Dance Concert 2010 and Dead Man’s Cell Phone and $25 for Babes in Arms and Pippin. Group discounts and student rush pricing are available.
