Otterbein College Theatre presents Pippin

Otterbein College Theatre will present the popular Broadway musical Pippin at 7:30 p.m. May 20 and 8 p.m. May 20-23 and 27-29 at the Fritsche Theatre in Cowan Hall, 30 S. Grove St.

With the book by Roger O. Hirson and music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, this tongue-in-cheek, anachronistic fairytale captivated Broadway audiences and appeals to the young at heart. The energetic pop-influenced score by three-time Oscar-winning composer/lyricist Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell, Children of Eden and the animated films Pocahontas, The Hunchback Of Notre Dame and The Prince Of Egypt) bursts with show-stopping numbers, from soaring ballads to infectious dance numbers.

The opening night performance of Pippin May 20 begins at 7:30 p.m. and is followed by a reception. A Sunday matinee on May 23 begins at 2 p.m. All other performances begin at 8 p.m.

Tickets for Pippin are $25 each and can be reserved by calling the Otterbein College box office at 614-823-1109. The box office is open from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and one hour prior to performances. It will be closed on Memorial Day. The box office is located in Cowan Hall, 30 S. Grove St. For more information about the Otterbein College Theatre, visit www.otterbein.edu/theatre.
