The Ohio State University Faculty Club will feature three exhibitions this season. The schedule is listed as follows.
Through April 27, Joel O'Dorisio: Reflections in Glass.
May 2- June 22, Marguerite Schreiber, quilt artist. The opening reception is May 16 from 6-8 p.m.
Schreiber is an Ohio native and has been a fabric artist for more than 30 years. In her quilts, the emphasis is placed upon the use of color as compositional strength. She uses dyed and hand over-dyed fabrics.
Schreiber graduated from OSU in 1961 with a bachelor of science degree in education. She worked as a teacher, as weaver and as an artist working in wearable art, designing and making clothing until 1991, when she began to devote herself exclusively to creating art quilts.
She has exhibited extensively with both the Ohio Designer Craftsman and the Art Quilt Network. Schreiber was the recipient of the 2000 Award of Excellence in the Best of 2000 Exhibition. Her work was also selected for the traveling exhibition, "Crossing Boundaries" which was presented by the Art Quilt Network.
June 27-Aug. 24, Gene Friley, sculpture. The opening reception is June 29 from 6-8 p.m.
