Lovestruck!
BalletMet breaks out Ravel to Sinatra for Valentine's Day

Not sure what to do for your Valentine? Sweep them off their feet with tickets to BalletMet Columbus' Lovestruck: Ravel to Sinatra, Feb. 8-16 at the Capitol Theatre. This charming program features a diverse lineup of works including Sinatra Suite, an intimate portrait of a relationship by award-winning choreographer Twyla Tharp.

 

Tharp formed Twyla Tharp Dance in 1965 an has created more than 125 works to date. She has also choreographed for ABT, Paris Opera Ballet, The Royal Ballet, New York City Ballet, Boston Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet and much more.

 

Also included in this production is Heinz Poll's Bolero, a passionate mix of Indian and modern dance styles set to Ravel's compelling composition and inspired by Poll's travels to India; A Different Drummer, a new work by Alexander Schneider Rossmy, inspired by Thoreau's musings of the same name and set to the percussion sounds of Steve Reich; and highlights from BalletMet's 30x30 program.
