A walk down the aisle may not exactly be a walk around the park. Many details are to be considered when planning your special event. Fortunately for Columbus’ most sophisticated brides, wedding bliss may be found in only a few short blocks.
The debut of the Short North Wedding Walk is Oct. 22, with seven specialists from the district sharing and showcasing their expertise for those planning or considering their nuptials.
The idea of this event spawned from the Short North Wedding Collective, which includes a handful of independent, female entrepreneurs offering everything from gowns to gifts and photos to floral.
Boutiques participating include Big Rock Little Rooster, an emporium of designer gowns including the coveted Vera Wang; On Paper, a custom stationer with modern, eco-friendly classics; Collier West, an eclectic home décor and gift store; and Rose Bredl, with timeless floral arrangements and offerings.
The Short North Wedding Walk will also feature informative tips from planning expert Kasey Skobel-Conyers of Bliss Weddings and Event Design and Amy Carruthers of C Studios, a local illustrative photographer.
“I have been catering to Columbus brides for over a decade,” says On Paper’s Joan Schnee. “The recent addition of Bakery Gingham and Big Rock Little Rooster has finally topped the cake. The Short North officially has become a marital destination for today’s discerning bride.”
Wedding enthusiasts are invited to gather at each of the Collective’s curated locations, gathering details, best practices and expert advice on planning the perfect day. The evening will conclude at the new Bakery Gingham location, where a toast will be shared.
“Prior to the concept of the Wedding Collective, ladies would have had to drive all over town searching to meet their needs, often taking their business to outlying Cincinnati or Chicago. The Wedding Walk was designed for convenience but also to show off the sparkling diamond of Downtown Columbus - the Short North,” says Collier West owner Suzi West.
