Westerville resident Warren "Ernie" Ernsberger was recently recognized as the Westerville Sertoman of the Year, according to a press release.
Ernsberger, who has lived in Westerville for more than 60 years with wife Patricia, also won the district Sertoman of the Year Award. The Sertoma East Ohio District represents 13 area Sertoman clubs.
The Sertoman of the Year Award traditionally acknowledges decades of community service and volunteer work, much of which is done through the Sertoma club. Ernsberger is the acting vice president of the Westerville Sertoma Club. His community and volunteer activities include fundraising for scholarship recipients and work with Recreation Unlimited and the Salvation Army. He also actively supports local theater and arts as an Otterbein alumnus and volunteer usher for the Westerville Concert Band and Westerville Symphony at Otterbein College. Other titles to his name include a former Armed Forces meteorologist, a former City Council member, a small business owner and a church elder.
The Westerville Sertoma Club meets on the first and third Tuesdays at 7:15 a.m. at MCL Cafeteria. Fore more information, visit www.westervillesertoma.org.
