Living It Up
BIA Parade of Homes ready to spotlight Grove City

This year’s BIA Parade of Homes will certainly live up to its impressive reputation yet again, as Grove City hosts the event for the first time.

Pinnacle, the 600-acre golf club community where the Parade takes place, will be lined with exclusive, luxury homes, ranging in price from $500,000 to more than $1 million.

“Grove City couldn’t be more proud,” says Grove City Major Cheryl Grossman of the city’s first opportunity to host the exclusive event. “I think you’ll see a community that is proud. I often say we are the can-do community.”

“If you haven’t been out to Grove City for the last four years, you will say ‘Wow, it’s a whole new city,’” adds site developer Joe Ciminello.

With décor styles ranging from American Classic, Coastal New England, Mediterranean to Spanish Mission, potential homeowners have quite the selection. In addition, this year’s foundation house, built by Lakeside Construction, takes on a “Gothic revival” theme.

“Everything going into the kitchen was donated to us this year,” says Matt Trucco, president of Lakeside Construction. While kitchen cabinetry, appliances and furniture are all being donated, and Trucco’s wife leading the interior design effort, the foundation house production is truly a team effort.

With cottage-style finishes inside the 4,495-square-foot home, a dramatic, wooden staircase, gourmet, sunlit dining room and hearth fireplace to garnish the space, potential residents will surely be tempted to buy.

All proceeds generated from the foundation home will be donated to BIA chosen charities; Children’s Hospital, The Columbus Housing Partnership, Habitat for Humanity and The Community Shelter Board.

Yet another gem of the dazzling tour is the brainchild of Lisa Mets, owner of Ashley Homes custom building company. This year marks Ashley Homes’ first participation in the annual BIA Parade of Homes, as her “French Country” style masterpiece, which is nearly completed, has already sold for more than $1 million.

Household amenities include an indoor/outdoor fireplace, massage room, movie theater and tree-house designed cove for children, which utilizes empty attic space. But Mets doesn’t forget the little details and conveniences either, as she includes two dishwashers, household security cameras, vast deck areas and a full-service coffee bar in the master suite.

In addition to Ashley Homes and Lakeside Construction, the 11-home 2007 event will also feature the designs of American Heritage homes, CV Perry Builders, Dani Homes, Duffy Homes, Heitmeyer Homes, Rockford Homes, Showcase Homes, Trinity Builders and Windsor Homes.

The Parade of Homes will open to the public from June 9-24. Ticket prices are $10 per person, while children 12 and under are granted free admission if accompanied by an adult. Tours can be arranged from non to 9 p.m. on Monday through Saturday, or noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
