The 2009 class of Leadership UA will host the first UA Green Day from 1 to 4 p.m. April 4 at Tremont Center, according to Leadership UA members.
Created to highlight the need for eco-friendly information in the community, UA Green Day will feature several presentations and fun activities for kids. Throughout the afternoon, community groups such as the Ohio Wildlife Center (in conjunction with Jones Middle School students), Dovetail Solar & Wind and Tipping Point Renewable Energy will provide information and demonstrations on sustainable living practices and becoming more eco-friendly. The event will also feature more than 24 exhibitors with eco-friendly products and services. Visitors can also visit recycling stations, securely shred their old documents and visit with Ohio Computer Recycling, which will be available to dispose of unwanted computers.
Interactive exhibits at the event will help families discover ways to be eco-friendly. Fun displays and activities will include an art exhibit by UA elementary students, a visit from the CW Channel's Agent GoodGreen and Eco the Turtle and face painting by members of Girl Scout Troop 2306.
