Jay Xing, born in Tianjin, China, is a graduate of the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, and earned his Master's Degree in Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Germany. His work is influenced by German expressionism, and combines Eastern Chinese traditional calligraphy with Western drawing technique.

His work has appeared in several countries in publications, solo, group and traveling exhibitions. He was awarded the International Award for Young Designers, arranged by Rosenthal AG in Germany.

His work will be on exhibit at Gallery on High, 147 N. High St., from Feb. 21 through March 31. The opening reception is Feb. 23 from 7-9 p.m.

Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. Appointments are also taken.
