Independents' Day
Event celebrates creative Columbus spirit

Multiple artists, musicians, organizations and businesses will participate in Independents’ Day, a volunteer-run and organized event in downtown Columbus running from noon until 2 a.m. Sept. 20 into 21.

Organized by Couchfire Collective, the city of Columbus and various other businesses and groups, Independents’ Day is completely volunteer-run and organized.

Event highlights will include a 100-booth street market lining Gay Street and Pearl Alley; two main stages for musical performances; interactive presentations and conversations at The Vault on East Gay Street; a fashion show from 7 to 10 p.m. at the vault; food from local independent vendors and restaurants; and an after party at The Vault.

Those who still wish to participate in the street market may still sign up. A 10-feet–by-10 feet both costs $25 (commercial booths cost $100). Registration closes Sept. 10. Volunteers, food and drink vendors and other volunteers are still needed.
