From aromatic sauces to tender tacos to frozen treats that satisfy a sweet tooth, the 16th annual Taste of UA will have plenty to offer even the most refined palates.
The event, which is sponsored by the Upper Arlington Area Chamber of Commerce, runs 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at Northam Park (the corner of Northam and Tremont roads). As the chamber’s largest event, Taste aims to showcase food from local restaurants and caterers. From year to year, it attracts more than 140 exhibitors, from food vendors to businesses and organizations in the UA community. According to Karen Hamilton at the chamber, food vendors run the gamut, from Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams to Dave’s Dogs to Moretti’s.
Taste also brings in an estimated 15,000 visitors, who are eager to try their community’s best dishes. Food samples generally cost $2-5 dollars per vendor, Hamilton says, although some vendors may charge slightly more.
Continuing a trend from last year, Taste will continue to offer family-friendly entertainment activities. These include rides, a juggler, musical guests and kid-oriented crafts. The chamber will also raffle off a bicycle during the festivities.
Admission to Taste of UA is free for the entire family. For more information about Taste of UA, visit www.uachamber.org or call the chamber at 614-481-5710.
