Gahanna will be Host City for the 2008 BIA Parade of Homes
By: Jim Hilz
Prior to the final weekend of the 2007 BIA Parade of Homes in Grove City, we were very pleased to announce the location of the 2008 BIA Parade of Homes – Manor Farms in the City of Gahanna, developed by Manor Homes.
We are excited to bring the BIA Parade of Homes back to the City of Gahanna. Gahanna has hosted two prior Parades in the 1990s. The City of Gahanna sees great value in what the Parade of Homes will bring to Gahanna.
The timing is great for Gahanna. Recently named by Money Magazine as one of the best 100 places to live in the nation – the City has a great deal of community pride, great schools, great diversity in housing and will be debuting Creekside – a flagship development in downtown Gahanna that employs cutting edge, mixed-use, town-center design principals. It will combine parks, residential, business and commercial centers into one livable, walkable community.
With the opening of Gahanna Creekside – visitors to the 2008 BIA Parade of Homes will get to experience a beautiful new community and new homes at the Village at Hannah Park – but will also be able to experience the amenities of new dining options and retail shops at Creekside.
Gahanna Mayor Rebecca Stinchcomb has publicly stated the City’s support and commitment to making the 2008 BIA Parade of Homes a “signature event.” She said Gahanna is also thrilled to have this kind of move-up housing stock available to their residents.
The BIA appreciates the support Gahanna has committed and looks forward to the partnership. We recognize how important community support is to the success of the Parade and how it enhances the value the Parade of Homes brings to the host city. Grove City’s support and dedication to the success of the 2007 BIA Parade of Homes since the announcement last spring is a prime example.
Grove City has been a strong Parade supporter leading up to the event and its residents came out to see the best our BIA builders had to offer. The BIA of Central Ohio greatly appreciates the graciousness, enthusiasm and hospitality extended by all of Grove City.
More than 37,000 visitors toured the 11 stunning homes that offered a variety of home styles, decorating, design and some of the best landscaping features we have seen in years!
And each year the BIA lets the public choose their favorite homes. This year’s People’s Choice winner for favorite house and favorite interior was Ashley Homes, a French Country five-level split home built by female builder Lisa Mets. Second favorite People’s Choice house and interior went to Heitmeyer Homes – a California-mission style ranch. And People’s Choice third place favorite house and interior went to Dani Homes – a 7,000-square foot Mediterranean manor.
If you missed the 2007 BIA Parade of Homes, or want to view the homes again at your leisure – the BIA has a CD with a myriad of interior and exterior photos and builder/supplier information for $5. Contact the BIA at www.biahomebuilders.com or (614) 891-0575.
