Fashionable Indulgence
A week of fashion coming to Columbus

Columbus is embracing fashion hardcore these days - and actually initiating style and trends. The city is no longer settling for the "everything eventually trickles down to the Midwest" mentality.

And the inaugural Columbus Fashion Week proves just that. The Bar of Modern Art (BoMA), located at 583 E. Broad St., will host the event, which is March 13-17. The theme is Indulge in Fashion.

This momentous fashion event is an inspiration of "Fashion for CHARITY," and proceeds will go toward www.ninemillion.org - a campaign to raise awareness and funds for youth education and sports programs.

Tickets are available at 614-561-9240 or www.columbusfashionweek.com.

Columbus Fashion Week is the collaborative effort put forth by individuals from all realms of the industry. Parnters include Michelle Washington, fashion stylist from Style-ology LLC (www.styleology.net), BoMA (www.barofmodernart.com), Arden B., Sephora, G & Co., Marengo Institute, Haircolorxperts and Aveda.

Artistic talent of makeup artists and hair stylists include Chenese Bean, Kellie Keck, Abby Roads, Donatella Imparato, Angela Holmes, Kathleen Hawkins and Vasilios Vassilakis.

The event will feature the state-of-the-art facility of BoMA, including a fully-equipped backstage area, Parisian-style high-fashion runway lighting and a sound system balanced to provide fully-equalized coverage for music playback.

The event is the brainchild of Imajin Studios & Management LLC.

"It is time to put the Columbus fashion scene on the map. We have really talented designers right here that need our support," says Ed Kavishe of Imajin Studios & Managerment LLC.

The kick-off is Tuesday, March 13 at 8 p.m. at BoMA, with a showcase of trendy fashion-forward garments from retailer G & Co., located in the Short North. It will feature models from local modeling agencies.

Other featured designers include Avant-garde fashions of designer Hassan, from Dayton, March 14; the elegant fashions of designer Samara Collins, from Elite Studios of City Center, March 15; and fabulous high-fashion garments of retailer Arden B., from Easton Town Center, March 16.

BoMA will also host the "Grand Finale Show" with an elaborate fashion show from renowned European designer Silva, March 17 at 10 p.m., followed by an after party.
