The hot summer tradition of Festival Latino will return to Columbus this year, thanks to the efforts of CAPA. The free event, now in its 14th year, is Aug. 15 and 16 at Genoa Park.
Previously presented by the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, the festival was on the brink of discontinuation from rolling city budget cuts. But CAPA stepped in and will be this year's presenter for the largest Hispanic event in Ohio.
“When the city approached us about the festival, we were thrilled to be in a position to respond,” says CAPA Board President Mike Petrecca. “We are honored to present the 14th annual Festival Latino and look forward to bringing the best of traditional and contemporary Latin-American culture to Columbus.”
The festival will feature Ohio-based Latino bands and dance companies, as well as national music acts. It will also include a diverse range of family entertainment and Latin cuisine. American Family Insurance returns as presenting sponsor for the event.
