Billy Joel and Elton John, the most successful and longest-running concert pairing in pop history, will reunite for their Face 2 Face tour July 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Nationwide Arena.
Joel and John open the concert with a series of duets, playing twin pianos and trading vocals. Each artist then performs a set with his own band. A grand finale brings the two superstars and their supporting musicians back together for a closing encore. This includes some of their greatest hits along with an unpredictable selection of rock and roll classics.
On Aug. 6, 1994, Billy Joel and Elton John played to more than 60,000 fans at a sold out Ohio Stadium concert on the Ohio State University campus. This Columbus show was part of the first co-headlining Face 2 Face Tour, which began a run of 21 sold-out concerts in 13 cities. The pair hit Columbus again on April 22, 2003 for a sold out event with more than 18,000 fans in attendance at Nationwide Arena.
Tickets are $53.50, $99 and $179. Tickets for the performance go on sale Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. and will be available at all Ticketmaster locations, www.ticketmaster.com, www.livenation.com, the Nationwide Arena ticket office and by phone at 1-800-745-3000.
