The Dublin branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library will host a public forum and discussion at 7 p.m. Oct. 16 at the library.
The purpose of the meeting, according to Branch Manager Michael Blackwell, is to garner feedback from community members and library members about the library’s services.
“It’s basically a brainstorming session,” he says. “We’re going to ask anyone who comes that evening what they think of the library, what strengths we have and what areas need improvements.
The meeting is part of the “2020 Vision Plan,” an initiative to develop 12-year roadmaps for its branches to keep them strong and relevant. According to Blackwell, each of CML’s 21 branches will have hosted a similar meeting by the end of October.
“We’d also like to talk about the future: in the year 2020, what would our customers like the library to look like then?” he says. “Are there any particular services they would like to see or any kind of future plan they would like to see enacted?”
Blackwell encourages adults and younger community members such as teens to attend the meeting and voice their opinions.
“I think it would be a wonderful chance to talk about the library and voice their concerns and let us know how we’re doing,” he says. “We would certainly love to hear from everybody.”
The Dublin branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library is located at 75 N. High St. in Dublin. For more information on CML’s “Vision Plan 2020,” visit their Web site at www.columbuslibrary.org.
