Dublin cyclists to ride across Ohio for cancer fundraiser

Three Dublin cyclists will ride across Ohio as part of a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, according to a press release.

Dennis Hoffer, Colin Scott and Clay Filson will participate in the third annual Pan Ohio Hope Ride July 30-Aug. 2. The four day ride covers 320 miles from Cleveland through Central Ohio to Cincinnati. Riders pay $150 in registration fees and are given tips on how to raise additional money for the ride, which benefits the ACS's Hope Lodges, cancer research and community programs.

In addition to a rider, Hoffer is also the event's co-chair. He has been with the event since the beginning and helped map the first Hope Ride route. He says he continues to participate because many people in his life have been affected by cancer, including his son-in-law and several employees.

Hope Ride cyclists can decide how many days out of the four they want to ride. Portions of the route include more challenging options for experienced cyclists.

Cyclists and rest stop volunteers may sign up for the event by visiting www.panohiohoperide.org or by calling 888-227-6446, ext. 1222.
