OSU Department of Dance previews Dance Downtown in Alternative Spaces throughout April
The Ohio State University Department of Dance will present several sneak previews of its popular, annual Dance Downtown production during April. This year's production, Dance Downtown Rocks!, will be presented at the Riffe's Center's Capitol Theatre May 3-5 at 8 p.m.
The April preview events will give audiences the chance to see what modern dance is all about, and an opportunity to talk with choreographers and dancers. Events are listed as follows.
April 7: :03 Minute Portions at the Gallery Hop.
Continuing its efforts to bring dance to new venues, Ohio State's Department of Dance will present this dance sampler event featuring video documentaries and short live dance performances. Presented during the Gallery Hop in the Short North neighborhood on April 7, the free event is hosted by Emack & Bolio's Ice Cream, 945 N. High St., at 7, 8 and 9 p.m.
April 13 & 14: Campus Music Hop at South Campus Gateway.
Joining a cooperative effort of the Wexner Center, University Community Business Association, College of the Arts, Ohio Union, South Campus Gateway, Summit UM Church and Campus Partners, the Department of Dance previews The Vernon Reid Project at the Campus Music Hop.
The Campus Music Hop spotlights a mix of music and entertainment events in the High Street corridor near the university April 12-15, including OSU's 30th annual Jazz Festival.
