Curtain Players begins 2009-2010 season with comedy

 

Curtain Players will take the stage for their 47th season on Sept. 11, beginning with the comedy Charley's Aunt.

 

According to a press release, the century-old audience favorite is the first of six shows on the company's schedule. Set in 1892 in England, the story revolves around English college students Jack and Charley, their lady loves, Charley's wealthy aunt and a chaperoned lunch date. When Charley's aunt cancels, Jack and Charley convince a male friend to pose as the aunt, and hilarity ensues.


Charley's Aunt will run Sept. 11-12, 18-20 and 25-27. Tickets are $14 and and $12 for seniors and students.

 

The remaining five shows in Curtain Players' season are:

 

- Run for Your Wife, Oct. 23-Nov. 8.

 

- A Little House Christmas, Nov. 27-Dec. 13.

 

- Hedda Gabler, March 5-21.

 

- A Thousand Clowns, April 16-May 2.

 

- Mauritius, May 28-June 13.
