What does Sex and the City 2 have in common with Central Ohio? No, Carrie isn’t going on tour through Franklin County with Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte in tow—but if you’re in the market for a new car, you could find yourself in Mr. Big’s ride. Okay, it’s not the actual car from the movie, but Sarah Jessica Parker’s character’s husband in Sex and the City 2 drives the brand new 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet convertible—and as of last month, it’s sitting pretty in Germain’s showrooms at Easton.

The new E-Class Cabriolet hit the streets last month to fanfare from critics, and Germain Mercedes-Benz of Easton is making the new model available to anyone in Columbus who wants spend the summer cruising with the top down.

The new convertible, sleek and stylish with a soft top that unfolds in 20 seconds (at vehicle speeds up to 25 mph), comes fully loaded. It’s even offering features like the “air cap,” a small deployable device on the windshield that deflects wind out and away from passengers when the top down. That means you’ll be able to hear the person sitting next to you and have less bad-hair days. Another gadget that takes the chill out of driving in the open air is the “air scarf” feature, a system of air vents installed in the headrests that circulates warm (or cool) air around the necks of passengers.

Critics have been busy heaping praise on the vehicle. Car and Driver calls it a “serene cruiser,” that will “make a statement at the valet stand or the shopping mall.” They also liken it to the classic Cabriolets of the 1970s—so the old guard of vintage Mercedes fans will be most likely be happy with its design. It’s the same size as the 2010 E-Class coupe and also matches its engine specs, so loyal Mercedes-Benz drivers will already know what to expect from its performance. And, to boost its safety, manufacturers added head airbags (the first time a Cabriolet has received this safety feature) and a reinforced body design to minimize risk of injury during a crash.

Germain Mercedes-Benz of Easton, located at 4300 Morse Crossing, is the largest Mercedes-Benz dealership in Ohio and one of the most distinguished dealerships in the country. They’re not only known for guiding clients through the world of high-end autos in their state-of-the-art facility, but they also have been known to give customers a jolt—in their very own cappuccino bar. What’s more: they’re the only place to find smart cars in central Ohio. The Germain Motor Company’s corporate headquarters is also on site at the Easton location—so customers are never far from the real nuts and bolts of company operations.
