Worthington recently celebrated the opening the Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center (MAC), located at 160 W. Dublin Granville Rd.
The MAC opens an exhibit by Worthington artist Dorothy Gill Barnes Oct. 22. There will also be photographs documenting Generations: Marks in Time by Stephen Webster on display until Dec. 27.
In addition, the Worthington Area Art League will display its juried exhibit until Nov 30.
The MAC will continue to reveal itself to the public with a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony Nov. 8 from noon to 5 p.m.
The center is a space to present artists and exhibitions, as well as musical performances. Continuing the mission of the Worthington Arts Council to advocate, create and nurture arts programming, the MAC includes a 213-seat theater, dance studio, four art classrooms and a digital imaging studio, along with an art gallery.
The space has been a long time coming with planning beginning more than a decade ago, and several years of fundraising and construction before it was ready to open its doors last weekend.
