CityScene has celebrated its 10th anniversary with four extra publications. In these issues, we have acknowledged other Columbus entities – from CAPA’s 40th to NBC4’s 60th to the Italian Festival’s 30th – marking special milestones in 2009. Home Grown
The Ohio Arts Council’s Riffe Gallery opened 20 years ago with
State of the Art: New Works by Ten Ohio Artists. The gallery, located in the Vern Riffe Center for the Government and the Arts on South High Street, has since showcased more than 80 shows highlighting Ohio artists and curators. Visit

Holiday Hoppin’
On the first Saturday of each December for the past 25 years, the Short North Arts District has kept its galleries and unique shops open later for holiday shoppers seeking local flair. The Holiday Hops typically include street performances, revelers dressed in holiday gear and opportunities to donate to area charities. Visit

Painting the Town
The Roy G Biv Gallery in the Short North has marked its 20th anniversary. Founded in 1989 to showcase emerging artists, this non-profit space has worked to increase public awareness of art and enhance the cultural diversity of Central Ohio. Visit

Singing Out Loud
The Columbus Gay Men’s Chorus (CGMC) has embarked upon its 20th season, which includes its annual performances of Joy, as well as collaboration with the Columbus Jazz Orchestra in May. The organization has approximately 90 singers. Visit

Book Worms
The Ohioana Library celebrated its 80th anniversary this year at its home in the old Jeffrey Manufacturing building on East 1st Avenue. The non-profit library’s collection features more than 45,000 books from all genres, as well as more than 25,000 biographical files, all created and focused on Ohio writers and artists. Visit

Fighting with Force
This year, the Columbus AIDS Task Force marked 25 years of providing full-service, comprehensive care services, educational programs and HIV testing. Established in 1984, this non-profit organization serves seven counties in Central Ohio. Visit

A Gamble Won
Madlab Theatre’s “Theatre Roulette” marked 10 years in 2009, making it the longest running annual shorts work festival in Central Ohio. The plays in this festival are broken up into three separate nights of programming. Madlab is located on North Grant Avenue downtown. Visit

Keeping it Green
The Ohio Environmental Council held its Green Gala in November to mark its 40th anniversary. The organization, headquartered on Grandview Avenue, advocates for fresh air, clean water and sustainable land use. Visit www.theoec.org.
Feeding Frenzy
German Village’s Katzinger’s Delicatessen has been serving its signature sandwiches for 25 years. Visit
