City and local organizations host e-waste collection and food drive

Multiple Dublin organizations and entities have combined their resources to host an electronics recycling and canned food collection from 9 a.m-2 p.m. Aug. 15 at Ashland, Inc., 5200 Emerald Parkway.

The event will provide residents and businesses with the chance to safely dispose of electronic equipment free of charge using the services of Possitivity Green. Canned food and/or donations will also be collected for the Mid-Ohio Foodbank's Operation Feed campaign.

Sponsors for the event include the City of Dublin, Ashland, Inc., Smurfit-Stone and Possitivity Green.

"E-waste" considered acceptable for the event includes cell phones, computers, printers, copiers and LCD monitors. When deposited in landfills, these items can contribute to the release of harmful toxins and gases into groundwater, soil and streams.

Items not considered acceptable for the event include cracked monitors, household hazardous waste, televisions and stereos. If you have more than five items you wish to recycle, contact Possitivity Green to schedule a separate pickup.
