Martini Modern Italian opens in Columbus' Short North Oct. 15
A Dublin resident will take the helm of Cameron Mitchell’s latest Columbus restaurant come Oct. 15.
Eric Bearfield was recently named general manager at Martini Modern Italian, according to a press release. Located at 445 N. High St. in the Short North and formerly the home of Martini Italian Bistro, Martini Modern Italian will sport a new look and new menu.
“One of our main goals was to re-embrace the Short North market,” Bearfield says. “We use traditional Italian cooking techniques with only the freshest ingredients but present them in more innovative ways.”
“Modern” is the name of the game, Bearfield says. The menu will feature updated takes on traditional Italian fare, and the décor will feature contemporary color contrasts, such as dark wood and a “glowing white bar.”
“It’s chic, high-energy dining,” he says.
Bearfield has a long history with Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. He began working at Cameron’s American Bistro in 1999, and has also worked at M and the formerly-owned Columbus Fish Market. Before coming to Martini, Bearfield was the general manager at Molly Woo’s Asian Bistro.
Though originally from Chagrin Falls, Bearfield has been a resident of Dublin for six years with his wife and three children. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in psychology.
