Brilliant!
Einstein: A Groundbreaking Exhibition on the man and his science premieres at COSI Columbus
Explore the man behind the mind and the insights that changed the world. EINSTEIN, the most comprehensive exhibition ever presented on the life and theories of one of the greatest scientists of all time, opens at COSI Columbus on Feb. 17 and will remain on view until May 20. This exhibit is included with COSI general admission.
He was a brilliant thinker, who reshaped our concepts of space and time. This unprecedented exhibition brings together cutting-edge interactive exhibits that animate Albert Einstein's most revolutionary theories; videos about Einstein's life, science, and legacy; hands-on activities and facsimiles of his manuscripts; including his E=mc2 Special Theory of Relativity manuscript and personal letters to his loved ones.
The exhibition brings to life many of Einstein's most astonishing visions of the universe-light's constant speed, time as the fourth dimension, and space-time as a curved geometry-while at the same time revealing his passion for social justice and his speaking out against segregation, anti-Semitism, McCarthyism, and nuclear armament.
"Visitors will come away with a broader understanding of Einstein, and many people, perhaps for the first time, will understand how his theories explain a variety of phenomena, from the behavior of black holes to the fusion reactions at the heart of our Sun," says Michael M. Shara, curator of EINSTEIN. "There were more changes in the last century than in the previous 2,000 years in terms of technological advances such as nuclear energy, lasers, the computer revolution, and practically every one of those is traceable back to Einstein, including the biological revolution."
EINSTEIN is presented locally by The Columbus Foundation. The exhibit is also supported by the Columbus Jewish Foundation and American Electric Power. Promotional partners include the Senior Times and The Ohio Jewish Chronicle. EINSTEIN is organized by the American Museum of Natural History, New York; The Hebrew University of Jerusalem; and the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.
