Basketball game to raise money for a cause

It's competition with a cause: to raise money for cancer patients.

"Hoopin' for Hope" is an ongoing series of basketball games, approved by the OSHAA Foundation, designed to provide fans with great games and a way to give back to their communities. Locally, the Pickerington Central High School boys varsity and junior varsity teams will face off with Beechcroft High School Nov. 28 at Beechcroft, located at 6100 Beechcroft Rd. in Columbus.

Proceeds from this and other Hoopin' for Hope games will help fund programs offering emotional and financial support for cancer patients, as well as to the families of children who are undergoing active cancer treatment.

The games start at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 or $5 with the donation of five canned good items (which in turn will be donated to the Mid-Ohio Food Band). For more information, visit www.hoopinforhope.webnode.com.
