On Feb. 6, internationally known dance company Shaping Sound will visit the Palace Theatre.
A collaboration of different dance styles and choreography, Shaping Sound is directed by Travis Wall and co-created with Nick Lazzarini, Teddy Forance, and Kyle Robinson.
The group has worked on shows such as “So You Think You Can Dance,” “Dancing with the Stars” and a reality TV show on Oxygen called “All the Right Moves.” The company produces dynamic shows that paint a picture of sound and its movement. Shaping Sound was established in 2012 in Los Angeles and has seen a considerable rise in popularity since their debut on “All the Right Moves.” The four men are lifelong friends and roommates who had the dream of beginning their own dance company.
In the past few years, their dream has become a reality. The artists describe themselves as “visual musicians,” using dance to portray music. They perform contemporary dance with a distinctive mix of jazz, hip-hop and modern choreography. Each dancer brings his own experiences, abilities and energy to the mix.
The show is scheduled for 8 p.m. Tickets are $28-$73 at the CAPA Ticket Center (39 E. State St.), and www.ticketmaster.com. To purchase tickets by phone, call 614-469-0939 or 800-745-3000.
