This year, March of Dimes’ March for Babies event will take place at its new location, COSI, at 333 W. Broad St. Registration begins at 9 a.m. on April 26, and the march itself begins at 10 a.m.
Since 1970, March for Babies has raised money to help mothers experience healthy, full-term pregnancies, while also contributing donations to research improvements in infant health. Donations and corporate sponsorships allow the organization to not only fund research but alleviate medical costs that families face when a child is born prematurely. All this starts at the grassroots level, with local sponsorships including business law firm Perez and Morris LLC and Mount Carmel, a central Ohio-based health system.
On the national level, March for Babies has raised a total of $2.3 billion for these causes—an incredible feat, and one which is directly influenced by the community initiative found at local marches like Columbus’.
Participants in the walk can choose to be a part of either a personal walk team with family and friends or a corporate team along with members of your company. To start a team, visit www.marchforbabies.org.
Those who have participated previously and already have a team can simply reactivate it by visiting the website and searching for their zip code.
