While the dinosaurs have been extinct for about 65 million years, nearly 40 moving and replica
museum quality dinosaurs will be showcased at Blue Star Media’s “Discover the Dinosaurs.”
The event is a walk-through exhibit and takes place Friday from 11 a.m.-9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. in Exhibit Hall D at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
The hands on exhibit will allow guests to get close to, and even touch, the dinosaurs as they learn about the extinct creatures during their time of earth. The exhibit will have replica museum quality dinosaurs, moving dinosaurs and realistic scenes that depict the period of time through a combination of sight, sound, motion and more.
In addition to the exhibit, there are plenty of other activities and attractions that guests can participate in, including a scavenger hunt, a dino coloring station, a dino den and a dino theater. Also, with the purchase of exhibit plus ticket, guests can ride dinosaur rides, play in inflatables and play mini-golf.
While the event is open to the public and people of all ages can attend, kids can learn about pre-historic life on earth and participate in the large number of kid-oriented activities.
For the event, ticket prices vary depending on each guest’s age and preferred type of experience. Tickets are $18 for adults 13 and older and $16 for seniors 65 and older. Children under 2 are admitted free. For children between 2 and 12, exhibit only tickets are $16, and exhibit plus tickets are $22.
Separate tickets are required for those that will participate in gem and fossil mining and face painting.
