This weekend is your last chance to witness the magic of Motown the Musical.
Motown is based on Motown record label founder Berry Gordy’s 1994 autobiography, To Be Loved: The Music, the Magic, the Memories of Motown. Gordy helped launch the careers of some of music’s biggest stars, such as Dianna Ross, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Michael Jackson and Marvin Gaye.
The fast-paced show features more than 40 classic hits, including “My Girl,” “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” “Come See About Me” and “I Heard It Through the Grapevine”
Described as “Stunning!” by The Associated Press and “a towering stack of musical memories” by the New Jersey Newsroom, Motown received four nominations in 2013 at the 67th Tony Awards.
This production of Motown is directed by Charles Randolph-Wright and produced by Chairman and CEO of SONY Music Entertainment Doug Morris, Gordy and Kevin McCollum, who co-produced the original 1996 production of Rent. Grammy and Tony Award nominee Ethan Popp has adapted the classic Motown tunes for the stage.
