Childhood heroes can light up a face and inspire a child for life. The Columbus Crew SC plans to
use that power to ignite a passion for reading.
Tomorrow, and again on July 29, a Crew player will stop by one of the Columbus Metropolitan Library branches to read a story and sign autographs. The free events aim to promote summer reading for children while offering an opportunity to meet a Crew player in person.
The first reading will take place at 3:30 p.m. July 22 in the Whetstone Branch at 3909 N. High St. Next Wednesday, the Crew will appear at the Martin Luther King Branch at 1600 E. Long St. for a 3 p.m. story telling.
