This weekend the tradition of the spring art show will be presented at the college level on the Columbus College of Art and Design campus.
Discover hand-crafted jewelry, paintings, ceramics and other works created by CCAD students and alumni Saturday, April 2, at the Loann Crane Center for Design.
There is not a theme to the show, but rather it allows 115 CCAD student and alumni artists to display thousands of pieces of their work. Students and alumni submit applications and three external jurors select the top work that will be featured in the art fair.
“The art fair gives CCAD students and alumni a chance to connect with the community. And, it gives the community a chance to access works from some of the top artists and designers in Columbus,” said Tiffany Sperring, director of career services, who organizes the semi-annual event.
More than 1,000 people are expected to attend this event, which has been produced for the community and artists for years. The art will be displayed in the Loann Crane center, which is a large three-story building on campus.
Proceeds from all art sold at the fair goes directly to the artists and proceeds from ticket sales go toward student programming at CCAD. The CCAD Art Fair has become a destination for art collectors and those who simply love art.
General admission runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and costs $5. First-look admission starts at 9 a.m. and costs $20. For more information, call 614.224.9101 or visit CCAD.
