Clintonville is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
On Dec. 6, from 12-4 p.m., Clintonville businesses will open their doors for the 6th annual
HolidayVille, a neighborhood shopping event that will feature special deals and promotions from more than 20 local retailers.
Shoppers can explore Clintonville for free on the Jolly Trolley, which will make multiple stops along High Street, including Elm & Iron, Wholly Craft, Weiland’s, The Crest and Alison Rose. The stops, each hosted by churches and other organizations from the neighborhood, will feature Christmas carolers and hot chocolate. Guests can also enjoy live music, DIY ornaments and refreshments throughout the day.
The event will be headquartered at Mozart’s Café, where there will be live entertainment, a visit from Santa, mulled wine tasting for adults, and crafts and cookie decorating for kids. Donations, including toys, food and money, will be accepted at the corner of Lakeview Avenue and High Street at a station hosted by the Clintonville Resource Center.
To prepare for the event, Clintonville businesses will participate in a holiday window-decorating contest, the winner of which will be decided by voters on Sunday. Shoppers can vote by sharing a photo of their favorite window on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest) with the hashtag #holidayville2015. One voter will win a gift basket featuring prizes and gift cards from all participating merchants.
HolidayVille is sponsored by Experience Clintonville and Elm & Iron, with support from Wholly Craft, Eco Flora, Weiland’s, The Crest Gastropub, Alison Rose, Mozart’s and State Farm representative Meghan Humphreys.
