The Pleasure Guild presents Mary Poppins for its 2016 fundraiser show
Its employees may not use spoonfuls of sugar, but Nationwide Children’s Hospital certainly knows a thing or two about helping the medicine go down.
It’s only fitting, then, that the Pleasure Guild of Nationwide Children’s Hospital would have chosen Mary Poppins for its 2016 production.
The show – the 59thh annual production for the fundraising group – is slated for March 11-13 at the Palace Theatre, 34 W. Broad St.
Based on the beloved book by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s version of Mary Poppins has been enlightening and delighting audiences since its opening on Broadway in 2006. The play has been performed there more 2,600 times and has been nominated for seven Tony Awards.
All proceeds from the show benefit the Hospice and Palliative Care Program at Nationwide Children’s. The Pleasure Guild, a group of women dedicated to fundraising, has raised more than $4 million for the hospital since its inception.
