Trans-Siberian Orchestra plans a date with Columbus

One of the biggest arena attractions in rock music, Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO), will once again take to the road this holiday season for what will be another monumental tour. Locally, QFM 96 presents Trans-Siberian Orchestra at Nationwide Arena on Saturday, Dec. 20 with performances set for 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.

 

The band’s four CD releases, including the holiday-themed Christmas Eve & Other Stories (1996), The Christmas Attic (1998) and The Lost Christmas Eve (2004), have sold more than 5 million units. TSO’s 2001 DVD release, The Ghost of Christmas Eve, has also achieved platinum status.

TSO’s 2007 Winter Tour was its most successful to date playing to more than 1.2 million fans in more than 90 cities, and generating revenues of nearly $45 million, which, according to Billboard Magazine’s mid-year touring chart, ranked as the No. 2 most attended tour. Since its first Winter Tour in 1996, TSO has been one of the concert businesses’ most successful acts, consistently rating in the Top 10 for both gross revenues and audience attendance.

Tickets go on sale Monday, Sept. 8 at 10 a.m. and cost $48 and $38. As a special offer good Sept. 8-22 only, fans may purchase four tickets for $99, while supplies last.

Tickets are also available at the FSN Ohio Blue Line store at The Mall at Tuttle Crossing and ticket outlets at Chiller Dublin, Chiller Easton and Chiller North. Tickets are subject to service charges.
