Friends of CityScene, attorneys Steve Stover and Rich Terapak (both self-described foodies), attended the first ever Taste of Justice, an event sponsored by the Equal Justice Foundation. The event, honoring Julie Davis for her work in the spirit of the organization, raised over $50,000 "to
attack statewide systemic problems facing low-income persons through class-action and individual civil litigation," says the organization's Web site.
Since its formation in 1995, the Foundation has worked to help raise money and support in areas primarily in “consumer protection, fair housing, welfare reform, public benefits, immigrant rights, disability rights, domestic violence, judicial conduct, civil and constitutional rights, public accommodations and environmental justice.”
Following the event, five area restaurants kept the party in full swing, including Barcelona (German Village), G. Michael's Bistro (German Village), Rigsby's Kitchen (Short North), Alana's Food and Wine (Olde North Columbus) and the Refectory (North Columbus).
