A Jazzy Christmas
Dave Koz and Friends ring in the holiday season

Multi-Grammy Award nominee and pop instrumentalist/saxophonist extraordinaire Dave Koz will delight Columbus audiences with his smooth jazz hits and holiday favorites. The Dave Koz and Friends A Smooth Jazz Christmas 10th Anniversary Tour with special guests Jonathan Butler, Wayman Tisdale and Kimberley Locke swings into the Palace Theatre (34 W. Broad St.) on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 8 p.m.

Highly respected South African singer/guitarist Butler and former NBA All-Star turned star bassist Tisdale have joined Koz on previous tours, but this marks vocalist Locke’s first tour with him.

Tickets are $62.50, $47.50, $37.50, and $27.50 at the Ohio Theatre Ticket Office (39 E. State ST.) and at www.ticketmaster.com.

This year’s tour has a special twist — Koz will also perform selections from his latest album At The Movies, which topped Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz chart for most of the summer, claiming the No. 1 spot for 12 weeks. The collection features some of the most beloved movie themes of all time such as Over the Rainbow, Moon River, The Way We Were, and As Time Goes By, recorded with guest artists including India Arie, Anita Baker, Johnny Mathis, Barry Manilow and Donna Summer.

In addition, Koz and friends will play hits from their respective catalogs, as well as a variety of Christmas and holiday standards. Koz will perform selections from his new holiday CD, Memories Of A Winter’s Night, which features 12 holiday standards plus the Koz-penned title track. Highlights include two brand new duets — White Christmas with Kelly Sweet and Please Come Home For Christmas with tour-mate Kimberley Locke, who has topped the Adult Contemporary charts for the past two holiday seasons with singles Up on the Housetop and Jingle Bells.
