At 7 p.m. Feb. 8, Hair Theater presents Dude, Where’s My Hair?!? at the Abbey Theater in the Dublin Community Recreation Center, 5600 Post Road, Dublin.
Dude, Where’s My Hair?!? is a show sponsored by the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation, featuring Pat Wynn Brown of Hair Theater and her gang of young “dudes” who have lost their hair from chemotherapy.
With the uniqueness of each child’s story interwoven with Brown's humor, the show is sure to bring hope, laughter and delight to both the cast and audience. Brown's objective is to empower the children with humor, and to inspire the audience with their stories.
“Since I started Hair Theater in 2001, I have always wanted to do a show with kids. The show gives these 'dudes' a license to have fun with their own stories and to be stretched creatively. It will be a very powerful performance,” Brown says.
Performers involved in the show include Hannah Stoll of Mt. Gilead, Seth Jenkins of Clintonville, Harrison Ringle of Columbus, Coryn Lord of Jackson, Noah Schaeffer of Westerville and Samantha McCarthy of Upper Arlington.
The Hair Theater Wig Fund is part of the Columbus Foundation and was started in 2001. Since then, Hair Theater has assisted 533 women and girls undergoing chemotherapy with wigs and hats.
The Columbus Blue Jacket Foundation exists in conjunction with the National Hockey League’s Hockey Fights Cancer which raises money and awareness for the fight against cancer. The foundation chose the fight against pediatric cancer as one of its four main pillars of giving.
This is the first time the CBJ Foundation has sponsored this show or any other Hair Theater performance.
Proceeds from this show will benefit The Hair Theater Wig Fund.
