Dublin Counseling Center marks 30th birthday with inaugural golf outing

In a city known for the Memorial Tournament and quality golf courses, a charity golf outing seems like the perfect fit for Dublin. At least, that’s what employees at the Dublin Counseling Center thought when they planned the center’s first-ever golf fundraiser.

“The DCC Invitational: Driving for Wellness” is Sept. 28 at The Country Club at Muirfield Village. The 18-hole outing starts at noon.

The non-profit community agency, which provides outpatient drug, alcohol and mental health treatment for Dublin residents, will host the event to honor its 30th birthday. The outing will provide a networking opportunity for Dublin’s healthcare providers, as well as an introduction to those unfamiliar with DCC.

“The event is a chance for others to learn more about Dublin Counseling Center and the services we provide,” says Lucy Smith, community relations representative for DCC.

Such an outreach effort has proved successful in the past, according to Jeff Kent, a member of the center’s board of trustees.

“Our success as a non-profit agency is due, in large part, to the wonderful partnerships we have with the civic and corporate community of Dublin and surrounding areas,” he says. “We are looking for a way to create an affinity between the counseling center and the healthcare businesses.”

Sponsorships are available for the event and include: a $1,000 corporate sponsorship including dinner, a four-member team, hole sponsorship and a program listing; a $750 sponsorship including dinner, a four-member team and hole sponsorship; a $600 participant, including dinner and a four-member team; a $200 hole sponsorship; and a $25 sponsorship covering dinner only.

The outing will features lunch, an 18-hole round and a casual barbecue dinner.

Craig Krenzel, former Ohio State University quarterback, is the featured guest speaker. There will also be raffles with several prizes. For more information about the outing or the DCC and its services, visit www.dublincounselingcenter.org.
