A Frigid Fundraiser
Rotary event to benefit Miracle League Pavilion
On Saturday, Jan. 31, the Dublin A.M. Rotary Club will conduct its 18th Arctic Open Golf Outing at Shamrock Golf Club in Powell. Funds from the 2009 event will assist construction of the Miracle League Pavilion to round out the baseball field and playground complex.
Miracle League’s mission is to serve children with disabilities, and the Miracle League facilities are fully accessible to all disabled children. The facilities include features to eliminate barriers for children who are visually impaired, are wheelchair or walker restricted or who use any type of mobile device.
Dublin A.M. Rotary seeks both sponsors and players for the outing. Sponsorships range from $375 to sponsor a hole to $10,000 to be the event sponsor. Individual golfers may sign up for an $80 donation, or teams of four for $320.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with golf from 9 to 11 a.m., followed by lunch, awards, raffle drawings and door prizes from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Golfers will play nine holes using racquetballs and a three-club limit in their golf bag.
This year’s goal is to raise at least $30,000. Proceeds will be split between the Miracle League and the Dublin A.M. Rotary Foundation which supports youth and adult programs and charities throughout Dublin.
