The Columbus Association for the Performing Arts and artists of BalletMet Columbus will present The Dance Compassion Project on May 6 at 2 p.m. at Capitol Theatre. All proceeds will benefit the Ohio AIDS Coalition.
This inaugural event will feature exceptional performances by Central Ohio dancers and musicians, including excerpts from the critically-acclaimed Jazz Moves Columbus, performed by BalletMet company dancers; Special selections by the Columbus Gay Men's Chorus; a new work by BalletMet company dancers Adam Hundt and Annie Mallonee, featuring the Carpe Diem String Quartet; live music from Promusica and Opera Columbus; performances by special guests Columbus Dance Theater and Capital University's Orchesis Dance Ensemble; and world premiere works by BalletMet company dancers Jimmy Orrante and Justin Gibbs.
Ticket prices are $25 for balcony seating and $35 for the orchestra. Patron sponsors are invited to attend an exclusive post performance and reception in the Riffe Center to meet participating artists. The reception is catered in part by R.J. Snappers and Barcelona restaurants.
