1. CAPA Summer Movie Series (June 6 – Aug. 10)

Ohio Theatre, 39 E. State St.

CAPA’s annual summer extravaganza of old films gears up for another year, beginning with Superman June 6-8. Other movies in the series include The Maltese Falcon, Roman Holiday, The Women, Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life, The Spy Who Loved Me, North by Northwest, An Affair to Remember, A Star Is Born, The African Queen, You Only Live Twice and Oliver!.


2. Flora & Fauna (June 7 – July 25)

Open Door Art Studio, 1050 Goodale Blvd., Grandview Heights

The studio’s artists present their depictions of the great outdoors in the next Open Door exhibition.


3. DAC Sundays at Scioto (June 8 – Aug. 10)

Scioto Park, 7377 Riverside Dr., Dublin

The Dublin Arts Council’s summer concert series opens with the General Guinness Band on June 8. Additional performers this summer include Lt. Dan’s New Legs, the Phillip Fox Band, Angela Perley & the Howlin’ Moons, MojoFlo and In Full Swing.


4. Origins Game Fair (June 11-15)

Greater Columbus Convention Center, 400 N. High St.

One of the biggest gaming festivals in the country returns for another year, offering a variety of board, card and role-playing games, as well as miniatures, electronic games, a costume contest, an exhibition floor and more.


5. Picnic with the Pops: Classical Mystery Tour (June 13, 8 p.m.)

Columbus Commons, 160 S. High St.

The Columbus Symphony Orchestra teams up with Beatles tribute Classical Mystery Tour in the first performance of the 2014 Picnic with the Pops season.


DON’T FORGET! Columbus Arts Festival (June 6-8)

Downtown Columbus riverfront

The 2014 Columbus Arts Festival features love entertainment, local food, a tent for local artists, hands-on art activities, a children’s art gallery and an artists’ market featuring more than 300 artists. New additions this year include a film tent, displays made using cans of food (which will be donated to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank) and Italian street painting.
