As the 2008 BIA Parade of Homes in Gahanna at the Village at Hannah Farms successfully concluded last weekend, The Building Industry Association (BIA) of Central Ohio has announced the location of the 2009 BIA Parade of Homes will be Tartan Ridge in Dublin.

“Some of our most successful parades over the years have been in the Dublin area, and we are thrilled to be returning there again next year,” says Jim Hilz, executive director of the BIA. “Dublin is also experiencing a significant amount of job growth which is a key factor for builders to remain vibrant.”

Edwards Land Company is the developer of Tartan Ridge, located in the City of Dublin near to Glacier Metro Park off of Hyland-Croy road. Edwards Land President Charlie Driscoll sites a variety of factors in making this a spectacular development and also a site for the parade.

 

More than 40 percent of the development is dedicated parkland, appointed with pathways, trails and direct access to the local schools, the Glacier Ridge Metro Park and a neighborhood shopping center. The development will encompass 270 homes ranging from estate homes to cottages and townhomes, all diversely designed with a foundation in early American architecture.

“We will offer a setting and home type that isn’t currently available in Dublin,” Driscoll says. "And we’ve hosted parades before and look forward to the excitement and energy that it will bring to this site.”

As for the City of Dublin, the Parade is always a welcomed event. "We have certainly enjoyed being a host of the Parade of Homes in past years, and look forward the 2009 Parade at Tartan Ridge," Jane Brautigam, Dublin's City Manager, says. "Quality housing - that which is showcased during the Parade - is vital to attracting and retaining jobs, which in turn contributes to a healthy community. We work hard in Dublin to promote such managed growth and development, and believe the 2009 Parade of Homes will be the perfect demonstration of those efforts."

Continued job growth in Dublin will contribute to the success of the 2009 Parade. Within the past year, local companies have created or announced the creation of more than 1,420 jobs in the city, and pledged the retention of more than another 100. The current expansion of Cardinal Heath (675 jobs) and the opening of Dublin Methodist Hospital (500 jobs) earlier this year play a significant role in these developments.

Next year will mark the BIA’s 58th parade and will take place June 13 -28.
